Why We Procrastinate – Why We Leave Things for Tomorrow

Have you ever thought about why we say, “I will study tomorrow” or “I will start exercising tomorrow”… but tomorrow never really comes?

This habit is called procrastination. It means leaving important work for later, even when we know we should do it today.

💭 1. The Brain’s Trick

Our brain always likes things that are easy and fun.

Studying feels boring, but watching videos or playing games is fun.

So our brain says, “Watch the video now, study later.”

This is why we keep delaying work.

😟 2. Fear or Boredom

Sometimes we don’t do work because we feel scared — “What if I make a mistake?”

Or the task seems so boring that we just want to avoid it.

The result? The work gets pushed to tomorrow.

⚡ 3. How to Stop Procrastination

1. 5-Minute Rule: Tell yourself, “I will do it for 5 minutes.” Once you start, your brain will get into the flow.

2. Small Goals: Break big work into small parts.

3. Reward Yourself: After completing a task, give yourself a small treat — like a cup of tea or 5 minutes on your phone.

🌱 4. Remember

We are not running from work, but from our fear and discomfort.

Just start small, because a small start can lead to big results.
